why don't you just convert to manual?

Trust me, unless you have enough power, drifting with a auto is going to be gay. When you're in the middle of a drift and wish to feather the throttle, the auto tranny will shift to a gear that's too big.

but, what if i jsut keep it in a low gear?

it'll rev the shit out of your engine, and when you go to let off the gas it'll engine brake causing your car to slow down and lose momentum

but what if you just convert to 5spd?

I'm assuming you can select 1st and 2nd?

I believe most auto trannys will shift to the next gear when the rpm gets too high.

And what if you wish to shift up or down? The transmission will take too long to respond in a auto.
