So.. uhh I need you guys to help me here.

Ok so I was doing my usual browsing for KA parts and I Calculated all the cost for a built KA-T, I estimated around 3200 bucks for most of the stuff I want to do. (motor wise)

Then I decided to see what other motor choices I had besides the SR20DET, I came across this.


Does any one notice anything about that RB25?

Well here is a better picture of it. TWIN TURBO! ( keep in mind that they were only produced as a single turbo motor)


So now I'm starting to like the RB25 and the power that it can make, I just don't like the fact that parts for it will be a bitch to get a hold of ( some of them)

Do you guys think that I should go ahead and start turboing my KA or, should I start saving for a RB25 and Do a twin turbo conversion on it.

For the price that I was gonna do my KAT for I could get the motor and install it for a couple hundred more. and it has enough power to hold me at bay till I want to either do the TT conversion or just get a GIANT turbo.

If you could give me a reason why.

my vote is the KA24DET, jsut becuase everyone asks you if you're gunna do a engine swap. and plus didnt you want do to a KA-T from the start? parts wont be a bitch to find.

I would go with the RB swap. Due to the fact that if you go KA-T then you have to get you ECU tuned for the turbos, then you have to make ports for the oil, then you have to get the correct fuel parts (i.e. pump, injectors, etc.).

with the RB all you have to do is drop it in, get the gauges, and you good to go. you may have to get a fuel pump, but i think JHOT will provide you with that and all the necessary parts you need (i.e. intercooler, pump, intake, etc.). so in reality a RB is cheaper, if your looking for a turbo swap, and it produces just about the same power if not more.

Turboing a KA isnt that hard, it seems like it but its not.

its not hard, just more difficult then a RB swap, in my opinion at least.

Go rb just so I'm the only ka-t in our crew. =D

ka-t is gonna be cheaper than rb25. not to mention easier. i hope that price you estimated for the ka includes some turbo goodies. rb25 would be baller though. have you thought about the mount kit your gonna need for the rb? not to mention the driveshaft and all that. then the wiring. the price can add up quickly for both. just decide which one intrigues you the most and go for it!!!

look for the user nissanfanatic on ka-t.org and nico. he has some nice vids. that 20g turbo in the vid doesnt do the ka justice!!
